Stop the f-ing Sweeps [email re-post]
Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: "Anybody but hales"
Topic: Houseless
Mon 6\8\15

I will be out and about today in front of the den of sulfur, AKA city hall about 0900-1030 to talk about these fucking sweeps, rouge mayors from the sticks who think you can assault journalist and get away with it.

The sweeps were/are the most hideous act by any politician in office.

Our mayor brought in mayors to walk the walk of dictators and they acted just like one would expect.  One camera was destroyed and a photo journalist pushed around by a mayor and security from the shit town of waterloo, oregon.  Our commissioner of police watched and did nothing; no great surprise here but a violation of the law in front of hales goes without notice because it is perpetrated by one of his friends.

Just another reason why "Anybody but hales" is catching on in Portland.

Come, "Want to take a ride?"

          FREEZING in PORTLAND

It will be raining for the next ten days, the temperatures will hover just over freezing but flooding may occur if you are on low ground. We need a plan that makes sure all are warm and safe. We estimate there are 2000-3000 people left on the streets after the shelters are full. Emergency actions do not get everyone off the streets and that is criminal.

We must come up with a plan that accounts for all people, react as if a major earthquake has hit and set up ten times the number of warming spaces as we do now.

Stop these fucking sweeps, what is the matter with you Reese, Hales, and the rest of our city’s noble shits who do photo ops and leave people to die. 2012- We had 56 who died in the cold, not sure about 2013 but must be around the same number. The papers who print just negative stuff about the houseless should be boycotted by all who call themselves activists. I stopped watching local news because I just can’t stand the BS.

Today is call in Monday to stop the fucking sweeps.

Just call and get an update on what the hell these asses are doing if anything and keep calling on Mondays and Tuesdays until they stop. Where the hell are our noble lawyers who can bring suits against these would be business alliance councilmembers, who love fluoride but will let humans freeze because they will not declare an emergency and do something real.

We must get up every day and work to get real people into office, we must keep their feet to the fire, a good activist is not popular but he/she is feared.

We must bring hundreds to the council meetings and tell them they are out of time and if they don’t start doing something real they will see outrage every week and the VIPs who come to the Council will see what jerks we have running things.

Time is now!

The Keaton Otis memorial gathering in coming up on the 12th of this month; please come we are losing people too fast.

There is more, but I am tired and need to rest.

LET THEM EAT ROCKS - (Houseless get rocks tossed at them)
Mood:  crushed out
Now Playing: "Storm The Bastille, with calls and pickets"
Topic: Houseless
We must fight this with all our might, "Storm The Bastille, with calls and pickets."

A few days ago I got an email about Oregon’s Department of Transportation delivering large rocks to an area in the Lents neighborhood. This was a place where people, human beings, set up a camp under the 405 Freeway. The solution is the s...ame as Marie Antoinette came up with when she remarked that let the people eat the crumbs from the bread, or as the more common use of the legend is, “Let them eat cake.” ODOT goes one better by saying, “Let them eat rocks.”

I want to get to a place where I am calm, logical, and persuasive, but these jackasses just will not let me do it. Every time I feel calm and happy that the world is good, some idiot from the city, county or now this new entry into stupidity does something that sends me into the overhead and I want to scream; and I will---very loudly.

We must attack this shit straight on, I have sent e-mails to the city and county, I have made some phone calls and will make some more on Monday to everyone I can think of up to and including that guy in Salem we call our governor. People, unless you make this a big issue, then you can expect this kind of shit everywhere. ODOT thinks they got the answer to homelessness, well let’s show them that the homeless/houseless may be vulnerable but we who live inside will not let this stand. I will ask you to pass this on, let’s get together and do something that will knock their socks off.

Let’s call for the first meeting at City Hall this Wednesday, 10/30/2013 and meet at the food carts, get some lunch and take over the courtyard. I got a few bucks, “want to take a ride?” Individuals For Justice will be there for the council meeting and when we come out during lunch it would be good to see lots of homeless there to meet and decide on a date and action against the Lents Neighborhood Association and ODOT. I know there is a meeting tomorrow, 10/28/2013 at City Hall and we will attend that one. The Musketeers had a saying, All for one, one for all; we are in this together and fight we must.
Meetings:
Monday---3:00 PM at City Hall—Michael Withey—Six Points and more
Wednesday 0930 for Council meeting—Individuals For Justice
1100 for lunch meeting – Individuals For Justice, start to coordinate actions against ODOT & Lents Neighborhood Association and the city. Please get this out to your list and let us show that we who care about others will fight these greedy, short sighted jerks.

Fight Against Camping Ban Continues
Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: Solidarity with the Houseless Protest - Police Sweep Away Protesters

(by Joe walsh)

http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2013/07/424146.shtml

I look to Jose for info and request the same from the ladies and gentlemen of the protest against City Hall and their stupid camping ban.  There was a call for help for 0700 on Tuesday, 7/23/2013 because the mayor was going to have maintenance wash down the area and force the people to move.  I hate getting up at 5:00 AM; don’t know much about where I am at 0500.  So I did get up and of course walked into my bathroom door and banged by old head.   “What did you do that for?” said Patty, our dog looked like she was laughing!

I was on my way to take a shower, it took some time to finish my cussing about the bump on my forehead, but “Onward you old shit and move your butt so that you can catch the 0600 #4 bus to downtown. The people on the bus looked like they did this traveling in the middle of night as a regular adventure.  I turned on my radio and put in my ear plugs to listen to some music, which would be good.  Think about a Mocha from your friend around the corner from the den of thieves, it did wake me up and with all my whining I got to city hall  about 0645, and the good people were already awake and across the street from city hall.  I did not understand why but talked to Jose and was told that the city wanted to power wash the sidewalks and they needed to protect their stuff.  I went over and saw some staff from the council and one person who works for the city attorney.  I like David and usually when he is around things go smoothly, I hope for the best.  I met a wonderful man whose name was Jim D. Whittenburg; he was prepared to be arrested and was not going to move off the sidewalk when ordered.  I came this morning to be a witness, lend support to the people who are forced to live on the streets, not to get arrested but I was not going to see the wonderful man stand alone, so I told him I would go where he went and if that was jail so be it.  There were the usual 50 or so cops in the area that I could see, they were going to do a clean sweep and we were going to get caught in the middle of the “Wave of Hales Corruption.”

We waited and waited and about 0900 the police approached and Jim announced he would not move voluntarily and I just said, “I’m with Jim.”  I had my USS Independence hat on and a jacket that says, Navy and Peace—Ha!  The police did not want to arrest two old guys who were willing to give up some of their liberties so that others have a chance at what we once knew as “Democracy.”

So, off we went to the big house, the justice center for processing and booking, my wife did not know I was going to push the issue, so she was not going to be happy.  We were allowed to walk with the two police who were friendly and professional and very uncomfortable about arresting us.  We were taken inside the entrance and told to wait on a bench and the police would get things started inside and be out in a few minutes.  After about an hour we were given some bottled water and told to wait.  We waited and were not handcuffed, could walk out anytime we wanted, it was a strange arrest.  I was watching my oxygen and it was getting near the red zone and that is not good, but from time to time I sit at home reading or watching TV and not use oxygen, so I was not in a panic but concerned.  Jim was a good companion and the time moved along, the one police officer came out and informed us that they talked it over inside and they were not going to charge us and we were free to leave.  Off we went!

I got back to city hall and found that the religious display was taken down; Lighnting’s sculpture was also taken apart, gone!  This was not a surprise, but sad.  I talked to the group and they seemed to be in good shape, the cops that I came into contact with were professional and that is good.  My hope is that because Jim and I were respectful that these two cops may see people who protest a little different considering their experience of today.  Patty was home when I arrived and was surprised that I stayed so long, “Well, honey…………………………………arrested”

She seemed ok with the Tuesday event only saying, “You have a busy week coming up you know,”  “Yea, but some of it will be fun” I said.

I feel good about what we do,   I don’t like getting arrested but sometimes we old folks need to stand firm and not let these young whippersnappers push us around!

Into the streets I say, and bring me a mocha when you see this old grumpy guy standing with a sign for freedom, I love mochas!

Individuals For Justice will be at the City Hall for their meeting at 0930 Wednesday, the dog and pony show does feature the 4 s---s and Commissioner Amanda Fritz who is the only human remaining on this council.  We also will be at the County Commissioners meeting on Thursday at 0930 at the Multnomah headquarters on the East-side near Hawthorne & Grand.  We want to welcome back Cogen and ask him to resign.  Join us if you can!
